Jews hate Hitler. Armenians hate the Young Turks. But do the majority of Russians hate Stalin? Do the majority of Chinese hate Mao? Not as far as I can tell. Human beings are inveterate tribalists. We don't mind being oppressed as long as it's by one of our own and in our name. So of course even non-fundamentalist Afghanis prefer the Taliban to NATO occupation. Abandon Afghanistan (and Pakistan) to rot in their stone age existence. Limiting their malfeasance requires drone attacks and spy networks, not the sacrifice of Western lives. Give India carte blanche to do whatever it wants in the region. Accept only women refugees on condition they don't bring their menfolk. Come back in a hundred years and see if things have improved. If they haven't, try again in another hundred.
