Race exists. It may be (to some extent) a social construct, but so is the state. Try not paying your taxes for a year. To be ignorant of reality is to possess what Marxists called false consciousness. Therefore it's a good thing that, as demonstrated by sites like Stuff White People Like, white people are coming to gain some racial consciousness. People without perspective assume they are the default and everyone else is other. Like only other people have accents, only other people are "ethnics," only other people are "of colour" (white is a colour), only other people have social morays and ridiculous customs.
Racial consciousness doesn't necessarily mean racial hatred. Chris Rock is racially conscious, but hardly hateful. To be racially conscious is simply to acknowledge the reality that we are not disembodied Cartesian egos. We possess bodies and faces. Genes aside, our bodies and faces, especially the way other people react to them and culture portrays them, affect how we interact with the world. I don't know if black people are loud because media and culture tells them to be loud, or because they are predisposed to be like that. (Something to do with bigger dicks?) Probably it's a mix of both. Either way, acknowledge the fact and move on.
"Loud" isn't a positive or a negative. It's how you use it. You can be a loud, vivacious personality everyone loves, or a loud, obnoxious bully everyone wants to kill. I'm too humble to claim racial superiority. As a Jew, I could accurately say "nya, nya, my race has a higher IQ than any other." But I don't think IQ is the be-all end-all of being a good person. A high IQ doesn't make you wise (although it certainly predisposes you in that direction). We're a smart people, but we're also neurotic, self-centered and often loud ourselves. We possess, as we say, foibles. Acknowledge the fact, as all good comedians do, and move on.
When we acknowledge the fact, we can, to a large degree, alter the facts. I can try, and do try, to be less neurotic and self-centered (loud isn't my particular problem). I'm always going to be the bookish type, for which I blame centuries of inbreeding to create elite Talmudic scholars, but how I deal with it is my own measure of freedom. As Mussolini said in his saner days, "Race! It is a feeling, not a reality; ninety-five per cent, at least, is a feeling." I can do with that ninety-five (or fifty, or sixty, or seventy, or eighty) percent feeling what I will.
The problem with racists is that they're determinists. They deny what religion tells us (and it ain't the world was created in six days): people can transcend themselves and so defy the laws of culture. Abraham was once just another Iraqi. The problem with "race is a construct" PC types is that they aren't realistic. They deny what science tells us: people can transcend themselves and defy the laws of culture, but they can't defy the laws of gravity. If you aren't realistic reality is going to hit you on the way down. It doesn't matter what your race is.
